I have a set of American Telecom cordless phones. it is the set where one is plugged into the phone outlet and the rest do not need phone connections. they were working fine for a couple of months after i got them but now they dont. when i try to dial a number the dial tone still stays on and doesnt make the call. when the phone rings, it will not answer and you cant hear the person on the other line. Is there any way to fix this??? I can't find anything on the internet and we havent been able to use these phones for months.

  1. I would call tech support from American telecom....I had once a similar problem, and they told me to un-register the phone first and then registered it again!

  2. Sometimes the phones need to be "re-registered" with the base unit. This usually requires that you place one of the handsets on the main base unit for a few minutes. The base "reads" the remote unit to identify it as one for use with your base (rather than, say, your next door neighbor who may have bought the same set). If this works with one phone, do it with any other remote units.

If this does not work, see if you can find your owner's manual for a CONTACT US number.

  3. This problem isn't fixable.  I had this problem and ATS had me send my system in for replacement.  After several emails and phone calls, and two months later, I finally got a set of new phones.  One of the new phones quit working 2 weeks later.  I think ATS phones are horrible and shouldn't be on the market. I was supposed to get rebates on my phones after purchasing them 6 months ago.  Still haven't received them and they claim the rebate is pending,
