American TiVo box in Australia?

Question

TiVo is launching in Australia finally. Does anyone know if you could use an American box/machine in Australia (of course with an adapter for the plug)?

(preferably not just a guess)

i have an american t.v. card in my p.c. it picks up aussie t.v.

The USA uses 110 Volt 60 Hz power,  Australia uses 240 Volts 50Hz. If tha TiVo box plugs direct into the powerpoint then you need to see if it has a switch to allow it to use 220 - 240 Volt (this could be inside the TiVo box) if there is no switch then you need a 240 to 110 transformer (d**k Smith Electronics are one supplier) have it connected up by a qualified electrician.

If the TiVo runs on a plugpak then buying a suitable 240V plugpak should run it alright.
