American Trilogy seeking to get back on the right path - Ayrshire Hospice Making Today Matter Handicap Hurdle at Ayr
The bookmakers are expecting American Trilogy to regain his momentum and demonstrate a fine show in the Ayrshire Hospice Making Today Matter Handicap Hurdle at Ayr on Saturday, April 21, 2012.
Paul Nicholls’ trainee is all set to display his skills in the 2m5f110y event, which is scheduled to start at 16:00 GMT. Among his opposition are: Arctic Court, Cloudy Too, Cucumber Run, Cockney Trucker, Russian War, Corkage,
Habbie Simpson, Little Hercules, Tornado Bob and Stopped Out.
The class 2 meeting holds a cash prize of £10,397, which will be given to the best performer. It would not be wrong to say that majority of the abovementioned line-up is seeking to get back on the winning ways.
In both of his previous races, American Trilogy finished fifth on the table. After securing the runner-up place in April last year, the eight-year-old went for a long break.
He made his return in December last year, ending up fifth in the Hague Printers Handicap Chase at Doncaster. Since the son of Sendawar failed to improve his work afterwards, he missed the fourth spot by three and a quarter lengths
in the William Hill Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton in January.
After staying out of action for more than three months, the dashing gelding is geared up to return with an impact.
On the other hand, Arctic Court is also determined to pocket the winning cheque. The eight-year-old remained unlucky last time out, as he missed the top position by a nose in the Hadrian Air Conditioning Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle
last month.
Cloudy Too is not one of consistent runners, but his recent success has brought him among the favourites today. In mid March, the six-year-old did a splendid job to seal an emphatic win in the Guinness Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle.
According to our calculations, American Trilogy will have to perform out of his skin to bag the winning prize. Arctic Court and Cloudy Too might upset the proceedings, but it is going to be an uphill task for them. We wish the
best of luck to everyone.
