American Victoria Elizabeth finishes tied for 17th position at Northeast Delta Dental International 2012
American Victoria Elizabeth, who currently ranks fifth in the Volvik Race for the Card, could not do her best at the Northeast Delta Dental International 2012 as she carded an overall 217 to finish tied for the 17th position on the leaderboard.
Elizabeth was full of confidence, and determined to further improve her position in the Volvik Race for the Card when she set foot at Beaver Meadow Golf Course, Concord, New Hampshire. However, she looked completely out of form as she posted an unimpressive 77 in the opening round.
The American star belongs to Dayton, Ohio, and she made it to the top 10 in the Volvik Race for the Card just last week — something that shows that rising golfer is not about to let her rivals walk all over her.
Having recorded two top-10 finishes so far on the Symetra Tour, the Ohio native is keen to move ahead, as she has already pocketed $21,857 in the season.
Despite boasting a spectacular profile, the rising Symetra Tour star did not look happy with her performance at the Northeast Delta Dental International. Posting a 77 was enough to derail her, as she had to come up with a little more solid plan in the next round.
The second round, however, saw Elizabeth improve her position to some extent, as she carded a 70. She recorded a 70 in the third round as well, which helped her jump from tie 41 to stand tied for the 17th spot on the leaderboard.
Commentators said that if she had played sensibly in the first round and avoided making too many sloppy shots, she would have piled up a solid score. They said that the young star looked a bit nervous on some holes, as her shots went off the target.
Elizabeth started her third round in an amazing style, as she parred the first hole and drained a birdie on the next hole, regaining her composure.
On the other hand, American Jenny Gleason stunned the spectators at Concord after she defeated Esther Choe in playoff by shooting a birdie on the first hole.
Choe, who ranks first in the Volvik Race for the Card, fought hard till the final round, but could not judged the ball in playoff and let Gleason walk away with the coveted title.
