American Wii used in the UK?

Question

could you please tell me exactly what adaptor i need to buy to be able to use my American Wii in the UK? I don't quite understand what it is i need, i just know that it's something to do with the voltage being different and i need to buy something that'll convert it to British voltage. Thank you

You will need a 'step down transformer', something like this:

Whatever you do, DON'T plug the US Wii's power supply into the UK's mains socket (even with a suitable plug attached!) you MUST use a step down transformer.

Remember also that the Wii is Regionalised, therefore you will ONLY be able to play Wii games from the USA on it, UK games will not work (unless you get the Wii modified).

You'll also only be able to use Virtual Console games for the USA Wii should you choose to grab any online.
