Does anyone have or has had one of these and, if so, what has your experience with them been? My husband and I are thinking of getting one as a family companion (2 kids ages 15 and 5 yrs of age). I have always had large dogs growing up (pit/lab mix and a German Rottweiler) and am a confident and responsible dog owner who understands exercise, discipline and of course LOVE are important but I am wanting to know from people who have owned such a mix what their personal experience was or has been so far. Oh and if anyone can leave a link for a picture of one that'd be awesome! I kinda want to know what it may look like as an adult and google really didn;t have any good pics of one. I know looks should not matter and really don't to me especially since all the bully breeds are beautiful...I am just curious:) Thanks!!!!!

  2. Just wrote about my bullypit - Bella.  If you want Pics (I have a ton) please email me at sweetfaz@gmail.com.

  3. I have been a lifelong dog owner.  Bella is our bullypit that we rescued last July.  She was about a year old when we rescued her and we had some reservations because we had heard so many negative things about getting a bullypit as a rescue (ie not trained/socialized since birth).  At the time, we had two very old dogs (who, sadly, have since departed) and two kids aged 5 and 8.  We met her during a visit to our local human society and fell instantly in love.  In the last eight months we have discovered Bella is the single best dog we have ever owned.  From making sure I get up when my alarm goes off (yes, she actually sits by the side of my bed and "groans" until I get out of bed) to sitting beside my home office chair all day (have almost rolled over her tail on several occasions) to playing with our kiddos, she is the most loving and kind dog.  We often find ourselves telling each other that we are so thankful to have her.  She is incredibly smart and trains easily.  Most of the time she acts as if it was her single mission in life to please us and she loves when she is doing a good job.  The only issue we've had with her is with other dogs that wander into "her" space.  She has not "gone after" any of them but she goes crazy with barking.  However we knew that might be an issue as she had never been socialized.  They get a huge bad rap and are an excellent family dog.  KEEP IN MIND, this is one you'll need to walk almost every day and may develop some bad habits (chewing, etc) if not exercised regularly.   Good luck!

  4. I have a purebred american bulldog male and a american pitbull female they are both great dogs. I have two children 18 and 13, their friends are always over, and everybody just loves the dogs.  They definitely need to be walked. Also plenty of cow huffs to chew on. We just had a litter of 10 puppies, they are now 8 wks old if  you are interested I can send you a picture of them.

  5. I have an american bulldog/pitbull mix.  His name is "KING" and I can tell you he is smart and loves to be around people, although he might look scary because of his sizeand muscle body.  He is 3 months old and weight is currently at 30lbs.  Mother weight was @ 100lbs, father @ 120lbs.  They are good dogs if they are well taken care off.

Good luck with the dog you choose.
