I'm a Canadian legally married to an American for about 3 years now.. I've been going back and forth from Canada to the US and finally can get a green card.

Would anyone happen to know how much getting a green card costs [without a lawyers fee, I have filled everything out myself] and how long it takes to receive?

  1. Go the BCIS website. It gives you specific costs of all forms that you have to fill out (depending on what kind of status you have and whether or not you have special needs or qualify for specific things). For a basic application with nothing out of the ordinary, it'll be about $1,500 for all the costs (including medical). It only took 3 months to approve my mom's application (she is British), so sometimes they expedite it (depending which center is working on it).

  2. In Arizona you can get in the black market  fake documentation from 500 to 1000 dlls.

  3. the application is $1,100.00 without attorney fees.

If your husband is the sponsor, it can take 6 months to 1 year.

  4. In Arizona you can get in the black market fake documentation from 500 to 1000 dlls.

  6. I buy green card on street corner for $50.00.I lived America for 25 years and own two 7-11 and Hotel.

  7. In total it takes about 2000 dollars to file the forms and medical. For me, it took 12 years to obtain a Greencard, but you have an advantage in that your husband can sponsor your, so I'd say under 3 years for you.

  8. Hi , you need to apply for change of states , if you live in the state and this will cost $1010 to the goverment , you can down load the forms from the web site , but this if you are leving there . if not  you can find eazy way by going to the USA consl. in canaday and apply there , I think will be much Chepper.

    good luck

  9. you will be paying for these forms:

    I-485  =  $1,010

    I-131  =  $ 355

    total of $1,365

plus you have to pay for medical. you might be paying around $2000

  10. In your case since you married for more then 3 years, I would say that your total process is going to take around a year.

  11. It would be easier if your husband joined you in Canada.   I know if I was to marry someone from Canada, I would be there instead of here in the USA.  Cost of living in Canada is much better and the government takes care of the people.

    Try this site:  http://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/

The next site is a branch from the above...but its NEW for Green Card Marriage

  12. Well, I recently looked into it trying to get a girlfriend up from Honduras to bring her and her two children to the States and it is going to cost roughly $6,000 not including airfare and so on.

Is there any wonder why there are so many illegals here?

Oh and I have heard, don't even try with out a lawyer!

  13. 1345 dollar for filling fee medical for another $300 and lawyers for $2000 other for $500 or more its take atlist 2 years to get it

  15. It's a bit more costly in money and time after 9/11. Around $500 worth of paper work and over a year of waiting for marrying to US citizen

  16. The cost is around 1400 USD.   You need to fill I-130, I485 I-765, I-131.

Once you file I-485 you cannot use TN visa to Enter US. You should not go out of the US until your parole is approved.

You can do Consular processing also.

Read te immigration forums  you will know more

  17. My husband and i just went throught this...We submitted our application (the I-485 package [which includes I-130, I- 485 I-765, I-131] and cost $1,010) on February 23, and were called in for the interview on May 29 .  His greencard came in the mail on June 12th.  Since I am US citizen, it only took 3 months (and we are in NYC, which is usually one of the longest waiting time when it comes to USCIS)!!!

We didnt have to pay for the medical because he went to the NY state health department for all the medical testing, and we didn't use a lawyer.  You will be fine, my best advise is the call the USCIS if you have any questions or concern, and it will be over before you know it.  Again it only took us 3 months, and we are in NYC.

    A lawyer is NOT NECESSARY!!!!!!!
