Does the fact that Americans have to pay for health insurance infuence the services provided? Is the system more geared to the client or the profit? Is it both of these things? How does the American Health Service adapt its services to meet its objectives?

  2. Firstly there is no single US health service there are many different insurers and Charities and many different hospitals.

the US system is a totally private system geared around profit with some charitable schemes for those who would otherwise not get any care.

If you can afford it you get the best care in the world, if you can't afford it or are uninsured you'll be left to die.

do not walk in from of a Bus in the US without proof of medical insurance on you!

its only objectives are profit the concept of social responsibility is left to various charities with limited budgets and the small blue cross scheme which is a vastly underfunded government insurance scheme that offers basic care / emergency treatment.
