Hi I am an American living in Costa Rica. I am planning on going to Brazil soon. I understand that as an American you are required to apply for a Visa before entering Brazil. But I was wondering what is required for the Visa application. Do I need to provide a bank statement? Is there a Visa service in Costa Rica that can help facilitate this process? Does anyone have experince with this matter? Any help and direction is appreciated.

  1. They should have a Brazilian Consulate in Costa Rica where you can apply for a visa.  All you need is to pay the visa fee ($100 for US citizens) and a confirmed itinerary showing your arrival and departure dates into Brazil.

  2. You can see 1st site below and read the entry requirements for Brazil...there is a website listed there to check with their embassy.  I could not find a listinfg for a Brazillian embassy or consulate in Costa Rica, though there may be one.  I also listed several private businesses who will get your visa for you.
