  1. what sort of things do you want to know?

  2. Good Luck!

  3. There are some very good (private and Government) websites under immigrating to Ireland. They helped me a lot when I left the US

  4. Come for a visit, go to a pub, and start asking questions/ People will be more than happy to chat.

There are lots of Americans here too, you'll feel right at home.

And the property market is terrible, and the dollar to the euro is terrible. So maybe first off make sure you can get a job here that pays in euros.

  5. Find out about moving to the EU first, as there is a lot of red tape involved for non-EU nationals, much more so that for EU nationals.

It's a very different culture to what you're used to, but it's also nothing like the Ireland of the 1950s or even the 1980s - all that's gone. Your dollar will NOT go far at the moment, so don't think that you can move into a big house right away.

  6. yas are going to love it ere,we love the americans this side!

    hope yas enjoy it ere

  7. The property market is slowing at the minute so you might be able to get good value on a house in the coming years. I hope to leave Ireland for a few years. I'd like to live in Beijing, Shanghai or Singapore and then maybe somewhere in California. They're more interesting than Ireland. No matter what I do I plan to come back to Ireland but only because it's my real home.

  8. Whatever you do, dont claim to be irish cuz of your great great great grandad!
