American-made GuitarS? (Fender)

Question

Are American made guitars (specifically Fender Telecasters or Fender Stratocasters) Better Quality than those that are made in Mexico?

Are they more durable and less likely to have mechanical problems?

Yes, they are better than the Mexican made ones - hence more expensive.  Sound quality is better.  But for beginners, Mexican-made ones are still pretty good.

Buy a Mexican and save $1000. Then install good pickups and you've essentially got an American Strat.

yeah, american ones are better.  mexican ones are good for a beginner.

i think it depends on what set up you want though really.

Mex Strats are fine. They work the same, and are beautiful. My friend owns one and it's awesome.
