Vietnam or the like. Why do American/European women have such a hard time to marry men from those countries ? Is money the issue ?

That's what you get when there are women desperate to escape the poverty in their own countries. They'll go for strangers in foreign countries as long as they can get a better life and an opportunity to bring their families over.

As for the women, I don't think they have a hard time. I've known women who married foreign men they never even met just so the man could get his green card and then they got divorced immediately afterwards. For them, it was strictly a business transaction.

Western men often marry foreign women for a variety of reasons

1. They have difficulty finding a woman who fits their conservative ideals in the west

2. They are attracted to foreign women because of the exotic aspect

3. They are limited or incapable of finding an attractive partner in the west because they themselves are not attractive (in physical terms and in terms of having "game") and they use the only resources they have (money/citizenship status) to find pretty women in bad circumstances.

4. They actually fell in love with a foreign woman after communicating with her through a website

Women don't often look for men on these sites because

1. They often don't want a conservative partner, especially one that is used to men being at the head of a family

2. Looks are really important to men. Rich, unattractive women will generally have a harder time finding a man to marry her through a site than a rich unattractive man. This has to do with human psychology and evolutionary tendancies. It does NOT apply to everyone, all the time.

As El Biesbol wrote, women don't have half the trouble getting men as men do getting women. However, there are women who have trouble and they use "escort" agencies or sometimes take a holiday romance a bit too far.

You really need lessons in women. Still...above average question though.

Men do not mind taking care of women. Most like to feel like they are taking care of their wifes. Women on the other hand do not want to have to take care of their man. Women want to be taken care of.

I may be wrong, but I'll try to present a reasonable theoretical answer to this question.

It's far more complicated for an American or European woman to marry a man from Thailand, Vietnam, or the Philippines because American and European women are more "independent" and "liberated" -- judge the two in quotations as you wish -- than the women these men are accustomed to. Most Siamese, Vietnamese, and Filipino men are drawn to submissive and humble women, two characteristics that American and European women seem to be severely lacking. And if it were even suggested by a man that a woman work to develop these attributes, that man would probably be regarded as a "sexist pig." Men from these countries do not want women doing the same things they do, neither do they want women constantly challenging them and trying to make them out to be inferiors. They expect men and women to perform different roles in society.

Contrarily, Siamese, Vietnamese, and Filipino women are quicker to marry American and European men because these women do not regard American men as oppressive to women as the men of their native lands. American and European men do not expect women to fulfill a particular gender role in society, they "allow" them to have more freedoms, and treat them more as equals rather than subjects to be controlled.
