American relay teams self-destructing ?

Both men and women's 4 x 100 relay teams have been disqualified for dropping the baton.

You do not disqualified if you drop the baton. Men gave up after they dropped the baton and did not finish the race.

Great Britain was disqualified by passing the line before baton was passed.

I found that pretty amazing that BOTH teams dropped the baton. You'd think that by now they would've learnt to pass it a bit better. In relays you do a lot of training, passing the baton. I found it pretty funny but then I'm from Australia so I don't really care where the Americans come in the relay.

And just to clarify, you only get disqualified if you drop the baton outside your lane, so the women did get disqualified, they just picked the baton up and finished anyway, which I thought was good of them.

Im quite surprised with this cos I read a few months ago the athletes were training hard to make the passing of the baton perfect

So yeah I expected them to do well

They are the ones most devastated
