American right-winger Patrick Kaleta signs a new three-year deal with Buffalo Sabres -NHL Report
Buffalo Sabres, a team based in the city of Buffalo, New York in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL), have re-signed their forward Patrick Kaleta with a three-year deal.
On Tuesday, 31st July it was reported by Buffalo Sabres that the deal has been done.
It was reported by Buffalo Sabres’ official twitter account that Kaleta had agreed to sign a contract with the franchise, when they tweeted on twitter.com/buffalosabres,
“Patrick Kaleta has agreed to a multi-year contract with the https://twitter.com/search/%23Sabres”. 
And then later confirmed his signing news by posting that,
“The Sabres have signed forward Patrick Kaleta to a new, multi-year contract”.
However, financial terms were not disclosed officially by Buffalo Sabres or Patrick Kaleta but capgeek.com reports that the defenseman would be given $3.75 million for the three-year contract i.e. $1.25 million per each year. This also means Kaleta has got
an increment of more than 30% as he was given $907,500 per year in last contract.
The Angola, New York born American player has signed a contract with Sabres for the fourth time as his entry-level contract, which he signed in 2006, was a three-year deal for $491,667 per year and second contract, that he signed in 2009-2010 which was for
one year, was for $522,500.
 The 6-foot-1, 206 pounder, Kaleta started his career in 2002-2003 season with Peterborough Petes of Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and had a great time there as he had two 50+ points season too, before being selected 176th overall in the 2004 NHL
draft and signing his first contract with Sabres in 2006.
At the beginning, he was sent to American Hockey League (AHL) to get some exposure and experience as he played there for Rochester Americans, Sabres’ top affiliates. Midway through the first season he got a call from Sabres and got his first point on his
NHL debut on 22 February 2007 against Ottawa Senators.
After playing just seven games, he was sent back to Rochester Americans’ side and was called back once again in between 2007-2008 season, when he scored his first NHL goal against Florida Panthers on 10th February 2008. Kaleta never looked back
afterwards and has been a regular member of Sabres’ team since then.
After playing 267 games, he has got total of 50 points, 26 goals and 24 assists.
