Or do you see it in a more sporting way and can be happy with second place and happy for China.

  1. Couldn't care less who "wins" the Olympics.  That's not what the games are about.  I do enjoy the people complaining about the medal counts.  They're more obsessed over this stupid arguement than any American I've heard here.  They're not from the U.S. or China and don't benefit from either count so it  appears they have some sort of axe to grind against the U.S.  Who cares really?

  2. No, we aren't upset, actually. Why do you think we are? There's so much more to life than who gets the most medals every 4 years. Like economy, government, health insurance, human rights, etc. We're second to Switzerland in median household incomes and third behind Luxembourg and Norway in regards to gross GDP, which I think is much more important than the Olympics. And I hate when people think they're right when they're clearly wrong, so China does have the most gold medals, but the US has the most medals total. That's all.

  3. The Olympic Games are about bringing the world together.  I could care less which country has more total medals or more total gold medals.  I never have and I never will.  That type of thinking represents out-dated idealogy.  If that's really important to you then God bless you.

  4. Well, if they've cheated then they really haven't won fairly :(

But other than that yea The Chinese really prepared hard for this race & let's face it, the Americans have made some stupid mistakes missing medals (dropping batons!?)

  5. Who cares, we're either 1st or 2nd depending on how you look at it.  Either way, unless your Chinese, we're better than your country.

  6. i could care less i guess, im happy for all the athletes that win, and even though im cheering for the US, im happy when China wins it because they are in their home country and they work extremely hard to get where they are

  7. USA is listed first because these are US news outlets and of course we want to know how are country is doing first. We can all read the chart and see quite plainly that China has the most golds. I think people are reading too much into this.

  8. I agree with Double J's post!

  9. Though one could argue home field advantage I really don't think the amount of medals won by each individual country should matter (though last I read the USA had 100 and China had 83). What matters is going and participating. We should be proud of our athletes and the Chinese althetes as well who are performing very well this time around. Whoever has the most medals shouldn't matter.

  10. I find it dumb that it's gold medals > total medals.

    Country A - 1 gold medal, 0 silver, 0 bronze

    Country B - 0 gold, 20 silver, 20 bronze

Doesn't make much sense to me.
