Americans: What do you think of Hugh Laurie's accent in House?

I'd say more Brits put on an American accent in a higher pitch, like Lee Evans.

But, yes, Hugh Laurie seems to do his in a lower pitch, and Lee Evans' one is c**p lol, so maybe the trick is to go lower.

  1. I think Hugh does an awesome job of it.  I can't wait for the new season :-)

  2. When I first started watching the show, I didn't know he was British! Even though I had seen him in 101 Dalmatians (with Glen Close), it took me by surprise when I saw him in Flight of the Pheonix.

I think Orlando Bloom did an American accent in Elizabethtown, not quite sure, but it wasn't nearly as good as Hugh Laurie's!

  3. I love everything about Hugh Laurie ...my first adult crush

  4. I'm not 'merican, but I know Hugh spends HOURS practicing his Yankee accent to get it just right - especially those long-winded medical terms.

  5. It's very good.  I find that a lot of Brits speak in an American accent in a lower pitch than their normal voice.

But I love Hugh, whether he's speaking in his regular accent or imitating us here in the US.
