Americans and France?

Does the French people dislike Americans? I keep hearing they generally do but hate to think this is correct. My wife is planning on visiting a friend in a few weeks in Paris. What kind of reception can she expect?

Everyone should be pretty friendly, provided she convinces them she's not British. Boyyy, do they hate the British over there.

No it's just they think they know the Americans when they do not really so naturally they do not dare to show what might puzzle them.Plus some Americans's openness and good attitude make them look stupid .It's just cultural cynicism.Do not worry enjoy France!

it really depends on the person. america has done a lot of harm because of colonization and slavery and such. imprisoning, beating, lynching, raping, splitting up families, etc. its a wonder america and the european nations have friends...its now understandable why places like mexico, africa, and cuba, carribbean places suffer till this day, because of the colonization and slavery!
