A 47-year-old Chinese citizen murdered an American tourist.

Chinese people were shaken by the news and as a Chinese citizen I want to apologize for what that madman did.

Forgive my English. And again forgive us. Greetings from Shanghai.

I know it's not a question but we are all shocked and I want to apologize.

  1. Nothing to forgive really, crime exists in many forms in all countries. The only real tension stems from China being the last hold out for Communism. Socialism no matter what country it has a grip on, has traditionally been stubborn, unrelenting, and unwilling to give up its power and control.

Human rights is an issue if a country wish's to be a part of the 21st century globalization. Personally though, I'd like to see how the world will bring the 7th century backward islamic states into this new brave world. At least socialism is understood, and usually falls....Terrorism on the other hand can be proliferated by any whack job sitting in this basement with enough materials to make a bomb.

Yet, despite all the fingers pointing out what's wrong and who's responsible, our own congress in their lacking wisdom has made it illegal to profile people

  2. and when will all the murdered foreigners in america get an apology? come on americans, there is at least one stand-up chinese fella.

  3. thanks we forgive you.

    the olympics are going great!

  4. It's a very unfortunate thing to happen during a time when sports should be what it's all about. But we understand that you have disturbed and mental people walking the streets just as we have them in London or New York or Oxford. Some crazy person(s) murdered 2 French post-grad students in London recently by stabbing them over 200 times, and a Japanese student was murdered in Oxford last week. We are all sorry that such heinous crimes should happen in our country but we cannot stop mad psychos from doing these things. We realise that the killer in Beijing must be mentally unbalanced because he also took his own life and we understand a Chinese guide was also injured. I'm sure if they could, other Chinese would go to the victim's aid.

  5. Thank you for your Apology. That was very big of you. There are loonys everywhere, and in the USA,we have our share. There will always be nut cases running around. Your English is very good by the way. Most Americans are forgiving people,so i don't think it will reflect as bad as you think. I hope all else goes well in the future, and thank you again. Pete.

  6. It is not your crime, I live in England and we are equally shocked and join you with condolences to the family of the man who was murdered.

I hope that there aren't  more mad fanatics who will use the Olympics

to make a statement.  This period of games is the only time when most countries compete in peaceful sports, which is a hope for the future.

It is the Governments and not the ordinary citizens who cause most unrest and wars.

    Best wishes from England

  7. I wouldn't worry, you cant hold a nation responsible for the act's of this person .

I actually feel China have done a good job so far of hosting the Olympics,Today and yesterday has been impressive :)

  8. I believe I speak for most Americans when I say that we do not hold the Chinese people responsible for the action of one.

  9. May I commend and compliment you on your apology? It was not the responsibility of you, your country or anyone else but the murderer. However, it is individuals like yourself and other contributors here who hold out hope for the future of mankind.

And compliments to your country for a great Olympic Games so far. Absolutely wonderful.

  10. Jian X, please, there was nothing anyone could have done about that.  I'm very sad for the victim, but life is imperfect.  It seems from what I've seen that China has gone to great lengths to provide security, of which I'm sure the entire world is thankful for.

Thank you for your post.  Life is imperfect.  We all realize that.

Your displays in the Olympics have been breathtaking.  You've done a wonderful job, China!

  14. i think ever body will forgive you, you have notthing to apologize for its called life, and some time its very sad,

  15. we hate your government, not you.

  16. No need to apologize....Every society has bad people that do bad things to good people. May everyone...Chinese, American, Canadian, and all other Countries and cultures live in peace and acceptance.
