Americans in germany?

hey, this is a question to all americans livin in germany. what has made you movin there? except military? :-)

Okay, I know you said no military, and I'm military so that's why I came here.  But I know a lot of people who chose to stay here once they are done with their military service, and I know people who extend to stay here for as long as possible while still in the military.  For one thing it's a beautiful country.  It's centrally located, it's so easy to get to France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, etc from here.  They have great products, great restaurants.  I know I'm going to miss some of the foods and drinks when I return to the States.  Those are just some of the reasons I believe people stay here, I'm sure there are deeper reason.

I'm not an american, I'm Canadian', and the reason I'm here is my wife is German. By the way, there are quite a few americans living in Germany, they originally came with the military, but decided to stay here after their discharge from the army. For what reasons they stayed for, I have no idea.

I doubt any other American - would be there apart from Military reasons... Or else because your job comes with an  SuperDouper German  company car..

I came with the military, but opted to stay for many reasons,  among them being in central Europe where I could travel to interesting places in all directions, the law butting out of s*x (which it should do everywhere), a lot of freinds here, and my ability to work for the germans here.
