  1. Elementary School:

    Kindergarten: Ages 4-5

    1st Grade: Ages 5-6

    2nd Grade: Ages 6-7

    3rd Grade: Ages 7-8

    4th Grade: Ages 8-9

    5th Grade: Ages 9-10

NOTE: Some elementary schools have 6th Grade: Ages 10-11.

    Middle School:

    6th Grade: Ages 10-11

    7th Grade: Ages 11-12

    8th Grade: Ages 12-13

    High School:

    9th Grade: Ages 13-14

    10th Grade: Ages 14-15

    11th Grade: Ages 15-16

    12th Grade: Ages 16-17

Please note, the ages listed are the age of the students when the school STARTS. (Depending on which state you're in, school may start in different months)

Therefore, there may be a 15-year-old in 9th Grade, because they started 9th Grade when they were 14 years old.

    I hope that's what you're looking for. :]

  2. (Basically)

Preschool--some people put their kids in, either to give the kids a head start on school, or to serve as daycare while the parents work:  Ages 3-4

Kindergarten:  Often, just a half-day--not always required by law:  Age 5

First grade - 3rd grade: the primary grades: ages 6-8

4th - 6th grade: sometimes part of primary ("elementary") school, sometimes middle school:  ages 9-11

7th-8th grades (can include 9th grade):  Junior High school: ages 12-13

High school: levels are freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, in that order:  Ages 14-17

  3. Most American schools are Kingerdarten through 12th grade.  Kindergarten begins when you are 5 years old - 12 grade begins when you are approx 17 years old.
