Ami Matsuo of Carlile NSW clinches four gold medals at the 2011 Australian Age Championships
Ami Matsuo’s of Carlile NSW showed her class as she went on to win four consecutive gold medals at the 2011 Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, Adelaide, last week.
In the Girls 14 years 200m Individual Medley final, Matsuo picked up the top seed with an incredible time of 2:18.45 minutes, while her team-mate, M Bailey grabbed silver with a matchless time of 2:19.83 minutes. G Tsebelis of VIC finished third in a time
of 2:21.85 minutes.
On the other hand, she clinched the golden crown in the Girls 14 years 50m freestyle final with a sterling time of 25.34 seconds, while B McEvov of QLD wound up second in 26.33 seconds and T Marais of NSW claimed bronze with a 26.92 seconds effort.
Fabulously, she also grabbed the Girls 14 years 100m freestyle title with a stunning time of 55.26 seconds. Moreover, she took home the 200m freestyle crown with a fascinating time of 2:01.22 minutes.
Meanwhile, R Fairweather of QLD won the 400m freestyle final event with a fabulous time of 4:13.80 minutes. R Mihatsch of VIC took the silver with a 4:22.62 minutes effort and her team-mate, K Laidlaw secured bronze in 4:23.33 minutes. In the Girls 14 years
800m freestyle final, R Fairweather of QLD clinched the gold medal with a winning time of 8:38.93 minutes, while C Gillett won the silver with a 9:00.44 minutes effort. R Mihatsch of VIC snared the bronze in a time of 9:03.81 minutes.
L Rettie of QLD claimed the 100m back-stroke title with a fabulous time of 1:03.78 minutes, while R Booth of NSW snatched the silver in 1:04.82 minutes. N Smit of NZ won the bronze medal in a time of 1:05.14 minutes. She also captured the gold medal in the
Girls 14 years 200m back-stroke with an incredible time of 2:18.55 minutes. Meanwhile, C Richardson of NSW nabbed the silver with a time of 2:20.24 minutes and M Bailey of NSW settled for bronze in 2:20.99 minutes.
K Pircher of VIC claimed the gold medal in the 100m breast-stroke with a genuine time of 1:11.08 minutes, while she also snatched the golden crown in the 200m breast-stroke final with an intriguing time of 2:33.54 minutes.
In the Girls 14 years 100m butterfly final, M Gianotti of QLD was placed first with a winning time of 1:01.36 minutes, while she also grabbed the gold medal in the 200m butterfly with the fastest time of 2:13.64 minutes.
Last, but not the least, the Girls 14 years 400m IM title was taken over by M Bailey of NSW with a winning time of 4:56.77 minutes. Meanwhile, M Gianotti of QLD nabbed the silver with a 5:01.53 minutes effort and J Moody of NSW clinched the bronze in 5:01
minutes.
