my allergies have been driving me crazy this week. i haven't worked out in 3 days now because of it because i've had a headache, been congested and super tired from allergies. should i try and make an effort to work out again yet, or wait until i feel a little better. i guess i'm a little obsessive about working out which is why this is bugging me so much.

  1. I think that would depend on what you do for work.  You

might check with your dr about some allergy medicine

to help you out, yes you can by many right at the drug

store, but most of them will make you sleepy.  Dr can

    prescribe something that might not,

  2. Well, it is never a really good idea to work out when you are sick. Physically exerting yourself with workouts prevents your body from being able to fight off the illness. It is always better to rest for the week that you are sick. Missing one week of workouts won't kill you. If you are still feeling ill speak to your doctor immediately.

  3. I suffer from allergies and Zyrtec really helps, it comes in generic form also and over the counter. No drowsiness.

Colds and allergies are very different, and if you really want/need to work out, you could give it a try, but you'll find it will be hard with the stuffy head, runny nose and sneezing. When you have a cold, you shouldn't work out, to give your body a chance to recover and so that you don't pass it around to others at the gym.

Most times, I feel worse from allergies than from a cold, since allergies come and go all the time and they really wear you out.

Try the Zyrtec, it really works.

    Hope you feel better soon!
