Amin Rahim looking for hat-trick of MHL top scorer award
Legendary defender and short-corner specialist of Malaysian national hockey team, Mohd Amin Rahim is optimistic for creating history in the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) by completing hat-trick of top scorer award in the tournament.
Amin Rahim first took part in the MHL back in 2000 and acquired the top scorer awards in the tournament in 2006 and 2007. He marked 30 and 15 goals in the tournaments representing ‘Ernst and Young’ and ‘Tenaga Nasional’ respectively.  
Outstanding defender and dazzling drag flicker, Amin Rahim scored five goals in six games in recently concluded Asian Games and played significant role in the achievement of the first ever silver medal in the history of the tournament.
Amin Rahim, the 30 years old defender, who marked a golden goal in the Asiad semi final, when opponent India was leading the game with 3-2 score and tied it up at 3-3. Later on, he, in the extra time scored another goal and confirmed his team for the final
competition.
Amin Rahim talking to reporters said that he had marked two significant goals against India in the semi final, which gave them first entry into the final of the Asian Games.
Amin said, “It was the best achievement for me in the Games. However, it was disappointing that I did not score in the final match against Pakistan.”
Amin further said that he was satisfied with his scoring rate in the Asiad and hoped that he would show good performance in the Malaysian Hockey League.
Pakistan defeated Malaysia in the final competition of the tournament and dashed the hopes of Malaysia to earn a direct berth in the London Olympics.   
Amin maintained that he would surely struggle to earn a title for his team, Tenaga Nasional in the Malaysian Hockey League. “I have been working on the drag flicks since returning from Guangzhou, (China) last month,” he added.
Tenaga, the team of Amin Rahim will face Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLCH) in the first league match at Razak Stadium. Amin Rahim stated that it would be a tough competition against the defending champion, which will contest the tournament with seven international
players. 
It is pertinent to mention here that Tenaga had played a pair of games against KLCH in the last season of which one was lost while acquired victory in the second match.
