Amir, Asif and Butt return to Pakistan
The three Pakistan cricketers charged by the ICC under its Anti Corruption Code are returning to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
Fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif and Test captain Salman Butt have been questioned by police in England as part of a probe into an alleged spot-fixing scam, but have not been charged with any offence.
They have, however, been provisionally suspended from cricket by the ICC.
The allegations of spot-fixing against the three players first came to light when the News of the World claimed they were involved in a betting scam involving the delivery of no-balls at prearranged points in the Test between England and Pakistan at Lord’s in August.
In a statement released by the PCB, chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 has said: "The three Pakistani cricketers Mr Salman Butt, Mr Mohammed Asif and Mr Mohammed Amir are now returning to Pakistan. They have not been charged by the police with any offence.
"They have fully co-operated with the police in their inquiries and maintain that they are innocent of any alleged wrong doing. They have agreed with the police to return to England if the police request them to do so to further assist the police in their inquiries."
The PCB chairman also revealed yesterday that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 Yard would be questioning a fourth Pakistan player as part of their investigations, with paceman Wahab Riaz due to be interviewed by police on September 14th.
