Amir Khan: I promise you this will be a good fight – Boxing News
Amir Khan and Danny Garcia were present in LA for a press conference along with camps. While both the fighters avoided busting each other, their camp members filled in the gap. Khan felt disrespected over the comments made by Danny Garcia’s father and trainer
Angel Garcia. Angel Garcia snapped Khan by saying that the Briton is an overrated fighter. While Khan’s manager made it clear that Mr. Garcia was being disrespectful, Khan made it a point to clarify his stance.
Khan told Angel, “When I beat your son, will I still be overrated?” Khan then told media reporters, “I don’t like him he is very disrespectful.”
Since Angel Garcia was referring towards Khan’s fight with Lamont Peterson, Khan clarified his defeat by saying, “It was a competitive fight and things happen for a reason. In this case he was cheating and I had to move on.”
Khan then went onto to talk about his fight with Danny Garcia on July 14. Khan appreciated Danny Garcia’s fighting style, yet said that he needs to groom more. According said, “I have seen him (Danny) fight, he has a dangerous style. Don’t get me wrong,
he is tough [but] he has never faced anyone like me. I am the best guy he is facing.”
Finally, Khan lashed out on Angel saying, “It’s a shame that his father will not be taking the punches that his son is going to suffer for. You can expect an explosive a fight I will go in and win, I will be on my A game I will go in and knock Garcia out.”
Khan then promised everyone that his fight against Garcia will be a good fight and that everyone will enjoy it.
Khan’s fight with Danny Garcia is falling on the same date as of Haye vs. Chisora. Earlier this week, Khan claimed that his match will be a more interesting one than that between Haye and Chisora. According to Khan, he will beat Danny Garcia and prove to
the world that he still is a tough fighter. Khan wants to rebuild his rapport, which was damaged after his loss to Peterson last year in December.
