Amir Khan: I want to make Danny Garcia look silly in the ring on July 14 – Boxing News
Amir Khan, the former IBF and WBA super world light welterweight champion, is ready to go toe-to-toe with Danny Garcia, the incumbent WBC light welterweight champion, and recently vowed that he will make Danny look silly in the ring with his superior speed
and agility.
Khan and Garcia junior are just four days away from their epic, highly anticipated and heavily hyped bout. Danny will defend his title against Khan for the very first time and will also eyeball the vacant WBA super world light welterweight title which will
also be on the line.
It seems that Amir is not willing to make things easy for the Pennsylvanian lad as in a recent short to the point interview Khan has promised that he will outclass Danny in every single significant facet of the sport.
In addition, Amir wants to teach Garcia a lesson for his insolence, brash talking, and unprofessional behaviour. It is this reason, why in a recent media interaction, Khan adopted an aggressive stance and commented, “We’re going to in there and we’re going
to box him and we’re going to make him look silly.”
Khan who boasts wins over many huge names like Paul Malignaggi, Zab Judah, and others is being denoted by all and sundry as the odd-makers favourite and the possible winner.
Amir further added that Danny should remember that he is not an elite brawler, adding that he is the world champion but he has not fought big names in the division. Khan stated, “There are different levels in boxing and Danny Garcia has won a world title
but I don’t think he’s in the same mix as myself and the elite fighters.”
The Bolton lad, whose resume exhibits 26 wins in a total of 28 bouts, remarked that he has better skills, possesses more speed than the ‘Swift’ Danny, and above all has recently focussed on increasing his punch power.
Khan stated, “I know I have more skills, more power, more speed than Danny Garcia [and] that’s what is going to win me this fight.” While summarising his thoughts, Khan answered one of Danny’s accusations.
Garcia Junior, a few days back, taunted Khan and commented that if Amir says he is the best he should beat the best, adding that at the moment he is the best. Khan while replying to that jabbering stated, “We’re going to show who the better fighter is.”
The duo will meet on July 14, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Resorts & Casino situated in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States and will tear each other apart for 12 rounds.
