The new unified IBF and WBA Super light welterweight champion of the world, Amir Khan, is super confident after his knockout win over the former five-time world champion, Zab Judah.
The 24-year-old Khan led the first four rounds on all three ringside judges’ scorecards before he knocked out the 33-year-old American pugilist, Zab ‘Super’ Judah, in the fifth round to clinch the IBF title on July 23, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center
in Las Vegas.
Therefore the Bolton’s finest, who is widely known as King Khan, now thinks he can take on anyone in the ring.
Khan, who has won 26 of his 27 fights including 18 by the way of a knockout, told the media after his win over Judah that a lot opportunities have come his way. He said he will make his pick in some time.
“I’ll fight anyone and there are some big names out there for me. I’ll take a look at the short list,” said Khan.
Khan added he wants to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and for that, he wants to have a potential fight against the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather, who also holds the WBC Emeritus World Super Welterweight Championship belt.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “My aim is to move up the pound-for-pound rankings and to one day be pound-for-pound champion. I want to be the best fighter in the world. I’m still a fight or two away from there yet. At 25 I’ll fight at 147 pounds
and see where we go from there.”
“The Mayweather fight is something I’m looking at for the future and it would be huge for me,” he said.
The Pretty Boy, Floyd Mayweather, has never been defeated in the ring as he has won all of his 41 professional fights as of yet including 25 by the way of a knockout. Therefore, it is fair to say if Khan gets a bout with Mayweather; it will be a mega showdown.
