Amir Khan: I will not burn out against Danny Garcia – Boxing News
Amir Khan, the former IBF and WBA super world light welterweight champion, has thumbed down the reservations of critics, saying that there is not even a split possibility of him burning out during the bout against Danny Garcia. Khan added that he is feeling superb after the 18-19 week training camp.
Khan is currently going through a strenuous training session that has forced even the most established boxing analysts to raise concerns regarding Khan's upcoming bout.
After the arrival of the new conditioning coach, Ruben Tabares, Khan has placed stern emphasis on increasing his power and during the recent media interaction revealed that Ruben is making him work harder.
Khan while sharing his thoughts commented that he is truly satisfied with Ruben’s methodologies, adding that Tabares has a substantial experience which is definitely aiding him in evolving into a more powerful pugilist.
Khan stated, “Ruben has worked with David Haye and he is making me work harder. It’s been a new challenge, this training camp, which has kept me fresh.” The Bolton proud further added that the reason behind not getting exhausted is his balanced training adding that whatever he, Freddie and Ruben do they do it in accordance with a stiff timetable.
Amir while explaining the scenario in detail stated, “I started training for the Peterson fight at the end of February, so it will be a long camp come fight night against Garcia. I’ve had an 18 or 19 week training camp, by the time of the fight, but there’s no chance of burnout. We do everything right. We have balanced the training quite well and not gone too hard and nor will it be too easy.”
At the moment all eyes are fixed over the British 25-year-old former world champion who will enter the ring to take back what rightfully belongs to him. This time there is a bit problem in his path as he is colliding with one of the best pounders in the light welterweight division that is Danny Garcia.
Garcia junior will not make things easy for Khan and Amir understands it perfectly, the reason why he is undergoing tough and arduous training and sparring sessions with renowned trainers Freddie and Ruben.
