Amir Khan: Timothy Bradley might end up as a ‘leftover’ for me - Boxing News
Former unified WBA (Super) & IBF Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan said he wanted to fight unbeaten Timothy Bradley last year. However, according to Khan, Bradley, who is now scheduled to fight his gym mate Manny Pacquiao, will be knocked out and become
a ‘leftover fighter’ for him.
Timothy Bradley has remained unbeaten to date. He is scheduled to fight WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. According to Khan, Bradley does not stand a chance against Pacquiao and so his undefeated streak will
come to an end. Khan iterated, “He’s fighting my gym mate, Manny Pacquiao, and who knows, in the future, the fight might happen. But now, because I offered him the fight, if he gets knocked out by Manny Pacquiao, I don’t think he’ll be worth me fighting because
I don’t want leftovers to be honest with you. He knows I told him to grow some balls; everyone knows I told him that, and you know what? I don’t think he has any because he just walked off. Let him enjoy this little time before he gets knocked out.”
Khan added that the only thing Pacquiao needs to be careful of is Bradley’s big head. He added that Bradley will use body shots and looping shots to get Pacquiao but Manny will get him in between his looping shots and will knock him out.
Amir Khan will be soon stepping in the ring against Lamont Peterson, the man who defeated Khan last year in December to snatch Khan’s titles. Khan will be facing Peterson on May 19 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. This will be Khan’s last chance
to grab his titles back. If Khan loses, it will be the end of his career, as he puts it. Khan is planning on to take Floyd Mayweather Jr. next year. However, Golden Boy Promotions’ CEO Richard Schaefer has confirmed that the fight is only possible if Khan
proves his mettle against Peterson in the rematch. Therefore, Khan’s match with Peterson will determine his future opportunities.
