Amir Khan: We’re working on a lot of power
Briton fighter Amir Khan feels proud on being on veggies and organic food. Khan, who makes sure he keeps his fans updated, revealed that he has gone completely green for his fight preparation against Danny Garcia.
"I’ve gone from eating less veggies and salads to all organic foods — everything I eat, the meat and fish, is organic now," revealed the former IBF and WBA super welterweight titlist.
He added, "The chocolate is disgusting. When Ruben said ‘I’ve got some chocolate for you today,’ I thought it was a treat but it’s cacao so strong and bitter. I’d rather have a Mars bar. He makes me fresh juices in the morning — they might not taste the
best, and I don’t know what the mixture is, there’s everything in there."
Khan, who is usually known for his swift movements, revealed that he is working on his power this time, as Garcia is more of a hard hitter. Khan revealed that his main focus is to increase his power so that his opponents know they are hit badly when he strikes
them.
Furthermore, Khan iterated that he wishes to end this fight with a knockout and that when he hits an opponent he wants him to feel the power.
According to the former champion, he already feels the difference in his punches. He even said that his trainer Freddie Roach felt it when he hit him on the pads.
Khan further said that eating the right food is more or less like fueling a car and if you do not put enough diesel or petrol the car will not run. Therefore, according to Khan, it is important to workout hard and at the same time eat right.
For now, Khan is super excited to face Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. If Khan wins over Garcia, he will move towards Floyd Mayweather or Timothy Bradley for next year. If he loses, he will probably go on a decline in his
career.
