Amir Khan aiming to silence critics upon return – Boxing News
Briton fighter Amir Khan is eager to silence his critics when he makes his return against American unbeaten fighter Carlos Molina on December 15 in Los Angeles. According to Khan’s new trainer Virgil Hunter, Khan is a highly confident fighter and now he
knows when to step in and when not to engage.
Khan, who lost his WBA light welterweight title to American unbeaten fighter Danny Garcia, knows that it is time for him to be wiser with his sport. Khan has always been known as a fighter with a big heart, and the Bolton proud himself admits that it was
his bravery that landed him in trouble while fighting Garcia.
“I’ll be wiser in this fight. You’ll see a different and much better Amir Khan,” said the Bolton proud.
“He was giving me tips, how to be skillful and smart. It’s been very helpful. LA had too many distractions for me,” said Khan while talking about his training with Hunter.
“In San Francisco, the gym is quiet and it is better for me. It’s a lot different. There were so many distractions in LA. Virgil has been with me the whole time in San Fran. I need to be told, to be instructed. I prefer a quiet gym. It makes me focus more,
work harder,” he added.
For Khan, distractions meant his former trainer Freddie Roach who is based in LA. Khan has lost two fights in his career via brutal knockouts, first-round knockout against Breidis Prescott and fourth round knockout against Danny Garcia. The Briton believes
he now has improved his defence which will help him stay away from big punches that have landed him to the mat.
For Khan, the upcoming fight is crucial, as it will decide where he will stand in the future. Khan knows it well that losing to a fighter like Molina, who is not in the A-list, will be a shame and so he wants to give his best. Although Molina is a way inferior
fighter to Khan, the latter wants to prove himself worthy of fighting fighters like Garcia once again by defeating the unbeaten American.
