Amir Khan believes David Haye will return to boxing – Boxing news
Amir Khan, who is currently the unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, reckons former World Boxing Association world heavyweight champion, David Haye, will return to the sport for at least
one more fight.
The Brit believes Haye would not want to finish his career with a defeat.
The 24-year-old Bolton’s finest, Khan, who is widely known as King Khan, stated Haye was very disappointed after he lost to Wladimir but on the same note Khan remarked nobody wants to walk away with a defeat.
Therefore, Khan thinks Haye will fight at least one more time before hanging up his gloves. Khan insisted Haye is still young and coming back should not be a problem for him.
“When I spoke to David he did say to me that he was devastated with the loss he had,” Khan told Sky Sports News. “Klitschko is a very tough opponent and he knew he was going to have his hands full but he thought he might get into Klitschko's head
and break him that way.”
Khan added, “It didn't work but I think David can come back. He's still young, he's not had too many hard fights, he can come back, definitely win a world title again and finish with a win. You never want to walk away from the sport losing a fight so I'm
sure David probably will have one more fight and win that.”
David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye fought Wladimir ‘Dr. Steelhammer’ Klitschko in a much-anticipated unification bout for the heavyweight titles on July 2, 2011 at the Hamburg’s Football Stadium in Germany. Haye declared a lot before the fight but on the fight night,
he lost his WBA title to Wladimir via unanimous points’ decision.
Haye desperately wanted to avenge his defeat but he was turned down by Wladimir. However, Vitali Klitschko said he is willing to fight David Haye.
Let’s see if Haye makes a return once again because he has not officially announced his retirement as of yet.
