Amir Khan calls Pacquiao’s WBO loss ‘An American Robbery’ – Boxing News
Former IBF and WBA super lightweight champion Amir Khan is another member of the disappointed crew over Pacquiao’s controversial WBO loss to Timothy Bradley. The bout took place past Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was one of the biggest event
of this year, with celebrities, journalists, writers, athletes and fans were present in the arena to watch the Pac-man break Bradley’s unbeaten streak. However, when the results were announced, the entire crowd went into shock, hearing that Bradley had won.
Not a single fighter or former fighter has appreciated Bradley’s performance and each and everyone believes that it was a robbery for Pacquiao, including Lennox Lewis, Amir Khan, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. As soon as the fight was over, Amir Khan,
who is also Pacquiao’s training partner, tweeted, “What a robbery. Bradley did not win this fight. The crowd are booing while he's being interviewed. What a joke we had Manny winning by 5 rounds. Bradley how about you take the fight with me in December after
I clean up the 140lbs weight.”
Khan added, “If Bradley wants it I'm ready, he turned me down twice. After I beat (Danny) Garcia I will offer Bradley the fight for the 3rd time.”
Khan even spoke of the fight on BBC Radio. He expressed his shock saying, “I'm shocked more than anything. Manny won that fight clearly, I'd give it him by at least eight rounds. But the judges had it differently. It just shows that boxing has to clean up.
The same thing happened to me when I fought Peterson.”
The entire boxing fraternity is enraged right now with whatever happened with Manny Pacquiao. The fight that had Timothy Bradley lost his ankle in round two, finally had him as the winner. According to Manny Pacquiao, Bradley hardly hit him on his face and
most of the time he was just defending himself. For most fans and fighters, whatever happened should be condemned widely to bring legitimacy back to boxing, as they think this match was fixed. Amir Khan will be facing Danny Garcia on July 14 this year, and
he plans to take on Bradley after that, if he is able to beat Garcia.
