Amir Khan claims Tim Bradley is afraid of facing him – Boxing News
World Boxing Association Junior Welterweight king, Amir Khan, claims Tim Bradley is afraid of fighting him and is making lame excuses to not face the British boxer.
Khan, while speaking to a boxing website said that his WBO and World Boxing Council counterpart, Tim Bradley, is not signing up for a bout against him because he knows he cannot win.
Bradley is being considered as a potential opponent for eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao, provided the pound-for-pound king, Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 knockouts) beats the WBO and WBC lightweight king, Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 38 knockouts).
The British boxer of Pakistani descent is not happy and has accused Bradley, of making vague justifications. He said everybody including the Home Box Office, thought that the American was going to fight him but suddenly things got changed.
Khan, said, “I want the fight. I don't know why he's backing out. He's just not going for the fight right now, and I can't believe it, really. The guy has no balls and I think he realises he can't beat me. He just wants to cash in by fighting Manny Pacquiao.”
He also added, “If he really thinks that the future fight is with Manny Pacquiao, then he has to get past me. But I think that the reason he’s saying that he wants that fight is because he realises that it’s a big risk for him to fight me. So that’s why
he wants to avoid me.”
Twenty-four-year-old, Khan, admitted Bradley was very respectful when they last met in the ring. Khan said that since he has beaten Paul McCloskey, Bradley has never mentioned of going into a bout against him.
The fight does not seem to be a big deal for Desert Strom, Bradley, as he has appeared in a total of twenty-eight fights in his professional career and has never been defeated.
The American has also compiled eleven knock-outs in scintillating fashion. Khan has appeared in a total of twenty-six fights with seventeen knock-outs, but he has been defeated once in his career.
All is left to see if Bradley will sign up for a fight against Khan, as HBO and everyone else is keen on getting this clash underway.
