Amir Khan excited about Manny Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez trilogy fight – Boxing news
Amir Khan, who is the currently unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, is pretty excited to see his stable-mate, Manny Pacquiao, fighting Juan Manuel Marquez in their concluding fight.
The Pac-Man, Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), will take on the current World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight
World Champion, Juan Manuel Marquez, in their much-anticipated trilogy fight on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan believes there will be some great action on the fight night.
The 24-year-old Bolton’s finest pugilist, who is more commonly known as King Khan, told the media Pacquiao is looking in the best shape of his life and his upcoming fight will certainly live up to the expectations. However, Khan also admitted Marquez can
be a very tough opponent for the Filipino star.
Khan said, “I’m really looking forward to seeing some great action on November 12. I’ve been with Manny for some of his camp and I can tell you he is looking razor sharp in the gym. His speed and power is coming together at the right time but we all know
how dangerous an opponent Juan Manuel Marquez is.”
The 38-year-old Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, who carries a record of winning 53 of his 59 professional fights (1 Draw), with 39 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has a great fighting heart. He was knocked down three times in the first round by Pacquiao
when they met for the first time in May 2004 but he bounced back and their fight ended up in a controversial draw.
In their second fight Pacquiao again knocked him down in the 3rd round before once again he got up and fought his opponent till the end. Therefore, Khan knows their concluding fight will be an explosive one.
Khan added, “He’s shown in the previous two fights between them that there is no quit in him and that he has the ability to cause Manny some trouble. Like everyone I’m excited about the fight because it’s clear that it’s going to be one that boxing fans
are going to love!”
