Amir Khan fancies David Haye over Wladimir Klitschko – Boxing news
The British Light Welterweight champion Amir Khan has fancied David Haye over Wladimir Klitschko in their unification title fight.
The former International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organisation and World Boxing Organisation champion Wladimir Klitschko is set to meet the World Boxing Association belt holder David Haye in a 12-round fight on July 2, 2011 at the Imtech Arena
in Hamburg.
This fight is being considered as one of the biggest in the British history- the kind in which it is very hard to predict a winner. However Khan, who is also known as King Khan, feels ‘the Hayemaker,’ Haye will emerge as the winner. He feels Klitschko has
been making many mistakes in his previous fights.
The 24-year-old said, “Klitschko is a nice guy, but I don't think he has ever fought anyone as good or as quick as David.”
He added, “He is awkward with the style he has. He is going to keep David away with his jab, but I think he will make a lot of mistakes which he has been doing in his last few fights and I think David will take him.”
“David Haye is a very strong fighter,” Khan said. “He has been in this position a lot of times and I know exactly how he thinks and when the fight comes he will be ready, he will be motivated. This is a massive fight for him, a unification fight as a heavyweight.”
Though Khan, who has won 25 fights with 17 knockouts, admitted Klitschko is a very experienced heavyweight fighter and has a potential of winning.
He also stated the Englishman Haye knows this is the biggest fight of his career and he definitely will try to put in his very best in it.
Both pugilists will be one-on-one in front of a 50,000-strong crowd. Let’s see if Haye can really pull off a victory in Klitschko’s adopted county.
