Amir Khan finally secures unification bout with Zab Judah on July 23 – Boxing news
World Boxing Association’s light welterweight champion, Amir Khan, has finally secured a unification bout with the International Boxing Federation title holder Zab Judah on July 23, 2011.
Both pugilists will face each other in the ring at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
The 24-year-old Khan was keen to have a bout against Timothy Bradley but he quickly turned his attention to Judah when Bradley pulled himself out.
Judah and Khan had a lot that went on between them, as Judah was not happy with the offer Khan had given him and it looked as if he was also going to pull himself out. However, the 33-year-old American boxer, Judah, has finally agreed on the terms and has
signed.
The Brit on finally getting the fight scheduled told a British newspaper, “Judah has done a lot of bad mouthing but we will see what he has to offer when he steps into the ring. Once I have beaten him I will go after the other belts.”
Judah has also claimed in his interview that he is going to be the new undisputed world champion. Moreover, he remarked he has the tools to deal with the techniques Khan is going to bring in the ring.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I got what I wanted, so I am happy. Now it's time to go to work. I've prayed so long for this fight with Khan to happen. Now we've signed I've got the chance to be an undisputed world champion at two weights. I've
done it at 147lb and now I will do it again at 140, starting with the title held by Khan. Whatever he brings to the ring I can deal with.”
Zab ‘The Super’ Judah also commented on the Khan-Bradley fight. He stated Khan wanted to have a bout with Bradley because he knows Bradley cannot even break an egg with his punches.
These comments have really spiced up the things between both fighters and it would be fair to say that now it is going to be a very promising fight between these two.
