The all-confident Briton fighter Amir Khan will be taking on the all-violent Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Instead of being worried about getting knocked out by Garcia, Khan is more depressed over the fact that he
is not allowed to have pizza.
“I’ve been eating a lot of vegetables, salad and organic food,” said the British-Pakistani fighter who has been training with his new strength and conditioning coach Ruben Tabares.
He added, “Everything is fresh, there’s nothing fried. It started in the Philippines and I’ve been eating clean for the last 10 weeks. I feel fitter, stronger and fresher in the morning. I’ve been beating all my old numbers in training sessions. I can see
that I’m getting stronger and it is the food that helps. I don’t want to cheat myself by having treats. I’d rather eat healthily because I feel better.”
Khan further said that he fell sick early in the camp by eating a slice of pizza. According to him, anyone who is not used to of having bad food will instantly react to it like he did.
Khan will take on Danny Garcia for the WBC light welterweight title and the vacant WBA light welterweight title. According to Khan, this will be his opportunity to once again unify titles as he did previously in his career.
For now, the Bolton proud is confident that he is the better between the two. Khan wants to go head to head with Garcia soon to make sure he beats the unbeaten American well. After being hit by Angel Garcia, Danny’s father and trainer, for his religion and
descent, Khan believes he has taken enough and will deliver his best performance on July 14.
Similarly, even Hall of Famer coach Freddie Roach feels Khan is now speedier and more powerful than ever before. According to Roach, Khan will beat Garcia easily and he will give his best performance in the ring.
