Amir Khan ready to put on another show against Lamont Peterson – Boxing news
Amir Khan, who is currently the unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, has insisted he is ready to put on another great show for his fans against Lamont Peterson in their upcoming fight on
December 10, 2011 at Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.
The 24-year-old Khan, who is a winner of 26 of his 27 professional fights, with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, told the media he is almost done with his training and now he just wants to get into the ring.
The 27-year-old Columbian pugilist, Peterson, has also lost only once in his career so far. He holds a record of winning 29 of his 31 professional fights (1 Draw), with 15 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. Therefore, Khan admitted it will not
be an easy night for him but on the same note he remarked is fully confident of winning.
“Training is going great and I feel ready to do the business on December 10th. Lamont Peterson is a tough opponent and is a fighter with a very big heart, which showed in his comeback against Victor Ortiz. But I’m confident… the hard work is nearly done
and I’m ready to put on another show come fight night – it will definitely not be one to miss,” concluded Khan.
The Havoc, Peterson, on the other side is also geared up for Khan and he has claimed he will show the people what he is made of.
“I'm excited to get the chance to show what I can do. If you work hard and stay dedicated, you can make it. Roadblocks will occur but if you stay determined you can make it,” he said.
This fight is going to take place in Peterson’s back yard thus he will have an advantage of home crowd.
However, since Khan is planning to move up to 147 pounds division after this fight he will certainly put in his best performance. So let’s see if Khan wins the fight because otherwise it will be a huge upset.
