Amir Khan reckons he will have to be smart to beat Zab Judah – Boxing news
The current WBA World super lightweight champion Amir Khan was at the Mandalay Bay Resort on Wednesday for a media presser ahead of his unification bout with the IBF light welterweight champion Zab Judah this weekend on July 23, 2011.
Amir ‘King’ Khan, who has won 25 of his 26 fights including 17 by the way of a knockout, was asked a lot of questions about the Super, Zab Judah, who arrived 45 minutes after he was scheduled to start his session.
The 24-year-old Bolton belter, Khan, admitted he will enter the ring as a favourite but on the same note he said he cannot just think about winning, as it will be a certainly be a tough night for him.
Khan stated Judah is a very tough opponent for him, as he is a southpaw. However, the Brit revealed he has been sparring with the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao and hopefully he will get a lot of help on the fight night.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Everyone thinks I'm the favourite but I can't go into the fight thinking it will be easy. Zab Judah's very dangerous and it will be a hard fight. I'll have to be smart, listen to my trainer Freddie Roach and not
make any mistakes.”
“I've been sparring with Manny for three years. He has speed, power, great movement and is a southpaw. Sparring him will help me in this fight,” added Khan.
The 33-year-old American pugilist, Judah, who is a five-time world champion and a winner of 41 of his 49 fights including 28 by the way of a knockout, also had a few words with media before he left the ring.
Judah remarked, “I can't predict how the fight will end, if I could do that I run over to the bookies and make a couple of million.”
There is not much time in this mega showdown between two of the boxing’s best. However let’s see who becomes a unified champion.
