Amir Khan rejects Timothy Bradley offer of 50/50 split to meet in 2012 – Boxing news
Amir Khan, who is currently the unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, has blasted Timothy Bradley’s offer of a 50/50 split to meet in 2012 after Khan asked Bradley to be realistic while making
an offer to him.
The Desert Storm, Bradley, who is the current World Boxing Organisation World Light Welterweight Champion, recently called out Khan and offered him a 50/50 split but Khan has turned the American down as he thinks he is the cashcow now and Bradley should
not even think of a 50/50 split with him.
“It took Bradley six months to find his voice after calling me out and agreeing to a fight with me and now he is asking for a 50/50 split,” stated Khan. “He had his chance for a 50/50 split offer including the UK income and I am going to stick to my words,
he’s never gonna get that offer again.”
“I am the cash cow at 140,” added Khan. “All he is worth is 70/30 with no UK (pay-per-view) split. I am sure he will be crying himself to sleep.”
The 24-year-old Bolton’s finest, who is more commonly known as King Khan, wanted to unify the 140 pounds division by fighting Bradley but Bradley refused to fight him due to which he was stripped off his WBC title.
However, Bradley has now joined Top Rank Promotions and he thinks if he fights Khan through Top Rank, it would be a huge fight. Khan, who is currently set to face Lamont Peterson on December 10, 2011 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington
D.C, on the other hand wants to make Bradley regret for what he did to him.
Khan stated, “Bradley denied me the chance to become undisputed champion and I am gonna make him regret it.”
Bradley on the same note is set to take on Joel Casamayor on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and all that is left to see is whether Khan will offer Bradley a fight or not because this time the ball lies in Khan’s court.
