Amir Khan responds to Carl Froch’s statement – Boxing News
Amir Khan’s defeat to Danny Garcia was condemned by fans, analysts and fighters worldwide. Some of them supported the Bolton fighter while some believed it was an embarrassment. Among all, Carl Froch and David Haye were two prominent entities who came up
talking about the fight. David Haye spoke in support for Khan, whereas Froch regarded Khan as a ‘write-off’.
Responding to Froch’s comment, British-Pakistani boxer Khan said, “Carl's always got his little things to say, I think I'll leave it at that really.”
“I've never shirked any challenge or refused to fight anyone in my division even though it would have been easy for me to do so.”
When asked about his plans, Khan replied, “I'm a young fighter, I'm 25, I'm not talking about retiring, I'm still young and I've got a lot in me. If he wants to retire, he can retire, he's talking about retiring. I'm in a tougher division. I'm fighting better
opposition and I'm a bigger name than him, and I think that's what burns him really.”
Khan is absolutely devastated after the loss. It was his career’s second knockout defeat and third overall. Khan was dominating the title unification fight against Garcia. He won the first two round but surprisingly was knocked out in the third.
According to David Haye, Khan was in full control but he just was caught in Garcia’s vicious blow. Most of Khan’s fans are calling Garcia’s victory a fluke, while Garcia lovers believe Khan is an overrated fighter and he got a reality check against Garcia.
The situation has become quite gruesome for the Bolton fighter, considering this was his second consecutive loss by a mediocre fighter who is not even in the top fighters of the division. Khan has made it clear that he will not retire, instead he will work
harder and make amendments to his training regime to make a powerful return.
Whatever the case maybe, Khan currently is under a lot of pressure. He prepared hard for the fight but got nothing out of it. There are chances that the Briton might part ways with his trainer Freddie Roach to try something new.
