Amir Khan reveals Zab Judah was the toughest option presented – Boxing news
World Boxing Association’s World Super Lightweight Champion Amir Khan has revealed that Zab Judah was the toughest option which was presented to him.
However, the 24-year-old Khan said that the champion should be ready for any challenge that comes his way. He also added he has been training hard in the camp and is ready to take on anyone in the ring.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Fighting Zab was the toughest option my team presented to me, but a true champion is up for any challenge. I already was in training camp because it doesn't matter who I fight; I will train hard no matter who it
is because I want to be the best.”
Amir ‘The King’ Khan, who will take on the International Boxing Federation’s Light Welterweight Champion Zab Judah in a unification showdown on July 23, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Centre in Las Vegas, is aiming to be unified champion.
The Brit, Khan, told media that this is going to be a very big fight in the United States but on the same note, it is going to be a big one for his fans in United Kingdom.
Though Khan admitted that Judah is a tricky southpaw and has won many world titles, he does not think this is Judah’s time. He remarked he has a game plan and is already way ahead of schedule.
He stated, “Zab’s a tricky southpaw who’s won many world titles but I don’t think this is his time. He doesn’t have the hunger that I do. I don’t think he can take the belt I have off of me. We have a game plan for the fight, so I know how to beat Judah
and I’m already way ahead of schedule.”
The CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaeffer has also backed Khan, as he reckons that one day “Amir will be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
This fight is being considered as the one which is going to be an absolute classic, as two of the boxing’s best will take on each other in the ring in front of a huge audience.
