Amir Khan rules out future bout with Kell Brook – Boxing news
The current WBA world super lightweight champion Amir Khan has refused for a future bout against the unbeaten British welterweight Kell Brook who currently holds the WBA version of the Intercontinental title.
The Kid, Brook, who has won all of his 24 professional fights including 16 by the way of a knockout, exchanged a lot of words with Khan on Twitter but still Khan is not willing to give him any chance.
Amir ‘King’ Khan, who is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his career thus far against the IBF light welterweight champion Zab Judah this weekend on July 23, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, said Brook needs to change his promoters
if he wants to fight him.
The 24-year-old Bolton belter, who has won 25 of his 26 fights including 17 by the way of knockout, claimed he will knockout Brook if he fights him but on the same note he said he does not want to fight him because of Barry Hearn.
Khan mentioned his fight against Paul McCloskey which was held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena and Khan was declared the winner by technical decision, as the fight was stopped in the sixth round due to a cut on McCloskey’s
left eye.
A lot of statements afterwards came from Hearn’s side. Therefore, Khan reckons if he will beat Brook, Hearn is again going to cry.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “If that fight ever got made I'd knock him out. But to be honest with you I'd never want to fight him if Barry Hearn is going to be involved in promoting him. If I beat Kell Brook he's going to start crying again
and if he [Brook] wants to fight me he needs to go out on his own or get with a different promotional team.”
In the end, Khan remarked if Brook wants to fight him he will also have to bring something on the table for him.
Khan remarked, “I'm not giving him an easy pay-day, if he wants to fight me he has to go in with a big-name fighter so that he brings something to the table.”
