Amir Khan says Floyd Mayweather is getting aged now – Boxing news
The 24-year-old Bolton’s finest, Amir Khan, who is more commonly known as King Khan, believes the time has come for the undefeated American legend, Floyd ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather to taste defeat as the Brit thinks he is getting aged now.
The 34-year-old Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, holds a perfect record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
However, Khan, who is currently the unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, stated every best fighter is beaten in the end. Khan mentioned the likes of Muhammad Ali, who is widely known as one
of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all times.
Khan remarked Mayweather is not as agile as he was before and he will be beaten very soon now.
“It's all about timing,” Khan told the Times. “Mayweather will be 35. He's hit his peak. I'm getting stronger. It happens to all the best fighters, to Ali and all the big names. They get beaten in the end.”
“You can see now Mayweather gets caught. That never happened before. He's walking forward and you can see he's very robotic compared to those early days. He was amazing,” he said.
Khan, who carries a record of winning 26 of his 27 professional fights, with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, in the end insisted Mayweather’s hype will be finished once he loses.
Khan added, “I've tasted defeat and I don't ever want to taste it again. Floyd hasn't been beaten and that's one thing I know he's scared of. He admits it himself. He loses and that's him finished. And his time is up.”
Khan is keen to have a mega-clash with Mayweather and he is pretty hopeful he will set it up within the next nine or ten months. Let’s see if Khan really sets it up and break Mayweather’s unbeaten record.
