Amir Khan says Manny Pacquiao fights Floyd Mayweather’s leftovers because of no choice – Boxing news
Amir Khan, who is currently the unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, believes Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao has always fought Floyd Mayweather’s leftover because he does not get any other options.
The 34-year-old undefeated American legend, Mayweather, who has won all of his 42 professional fights , with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has claimed that Pacquiao always fights his leftovers. However Khan, who is widely known as King
Khan, reckons Pacquiao fights them because of no other options.
The 24-year-old Bolton’s finest, Khan, stated Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight champion, does not want to fight Pacquiao which leaves the Filipino star with no other options. Khan revealed
it not in Pacquiao’s hands to pick an opponent for him.
Khan told Fighthype.com, “Yeah, okay, he fights leftovers ‘cause, yeah, Floyd has already beaten them, but if there’s no one left out there to fight, what is he to do? It’s not Manny’s choice who he fights. They put a list of 3-4 guys in front of him and
he takes the best deal. You have to remember, he has got to fill arenas out and someone has to bring the crowd in.”
Khan in the end commented on Pacquiao’s much-anticipated upcoming fight with the Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez, which will be held on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
Khan said Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and currently the World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), could have fought Andre Berto as well but since Marquez pulls a huge crowd, he is fighting him instead of
Berto.
“I mean, look at the Marquez-Pacquiao presser now. 20-30,000 people were there. That’s Mexican fans for ya. Manny could have fought Berto, but more people watch and know Marquez. There’s more money involved and he’s a pay-per-view attraction,” Khan added.
