Amir Khan says he wants to be the man to break Floyd Mayweather’s undefeated record – Boxing news
The currently unified World Boxing Association Super and International Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Champion, Amir Khan, has vowed he will become the first person to beat the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World
Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather in 2012.
The Bolton’s finest pugilist, who holds a record of winning 26 of his 27 fights, with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, wrote on his Twitter page that his fight with Mayweather will be a huge one.
Khan knows Mayweather does not believe in it because there were almost 2,000 tickets unsold when he fought Zab ‘Super’ Judah. Khan explained Mayweather’s recent fight with the Vicious, Victor Ortiz on September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas,
Nevada was a much-anticipated bout but it also had almost 3,000 unsold tickets.
“To be the best you have to beat the best, and I want to be the first to beat him [Mayweather]. [In] 2012 I will be ready and no I ain’t looking past Peterson. It will be a mega fight even though Floyd based me for having 2000 unsold tickets the [Zab' Judah
fight in Vegas. His [Mayweather] fight vs. [Victor] Ortiz there was 1200 tickets given away and 3000 tickets unsold and that’s in his hometown,” Khan Tweeted.
Khan, who is widely known as King Khan, is constantly pushing Mayweather for a fight, as the Brit desperately wants to break Mayweather’s unbeaten streak. Khan recently also claimed that everyone will see him fighting Mayweather in the next nine or ten months.
The undefeated American legend, Mayweather, who holds an incredible unbeaten record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, on the other hand stated he will fight Khan but only if he beats Jessie
Vargas first.
Let’s see if a fight between these two boxing’s best takes place, as it will certainly be a huge one.
