Amir Khan says he will never give Timothy Bradley a big payday – Boxing news
The unified International Boxing Federation’s and World Boxing Council’s Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan is furious over the American boxer Timothy Bradley for not offering him a fight as he declared he also will not offer Bradley a chance to fight
him when he goes up at 147 lbs division.
The 27-year-old, Bradley, who is widely known as Desert Storm, was recently stripped off his World Boxing Council’s Light Welterweight title on August 28, 2011 because Khan requested the boxing organisation to take actions against Bradley.
The Bolton’s finest, who is widely known as King Khan, wants to clean up the division before he goes up in the weigh division. Therefore, he desperately wanted a title shot against Bradley.
Khan, who has won 26 of his 27 fights, with 18 of his fights coming by the way of a knockout, told the media Bradley is the only man he wants to fight before going up at 147 pounds.
Khan said, “I mean I’m praying. You know I’m praying. These people just do not want to fight me. Bradley just does not want to fight me and he’s the only guy left who I want to beat before I move up.”
However, now when Bradley has turned down Khan, the Brit wants everyone to know Bradley is scared of him.
Khan remarked, “If he doesn’t want to take a fight, then I want the world of boxing to know he’s just a chicken and scared to take me on.”
In the end Khan, who is rated as the best boxer in the Light Welterweight division, vowed he will also not give Bradley a chance at 147 lbs.
“I just have to carry on. At the end of the day I’m not waiting around for him. If he doesn’t fight me in the 140 pound division than he’s lost the chance to take me on, even at 147 I will never give him a big payday fight and we’ll see where he goes from
there,” he said.
