Amir Khan to prepare with Manny Pacquiao in ‘Ninja Camp’ – Boxing News
British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan has claimed that his preparations will be rock-solid for the May 19 rematch against Peterson. He further said that he is ready to ‘hurt’ Peterson for how he stole the titles from him. According to Khan, Peterson could not
have win if the referee had not cut 2 points from Khan’s score.
The match that ended controversially cost Amir his IBF and WBA super lightweight titles. This time, Khan wants to make sure he does not end up making the same mistakes. In his previous fight with Lamont, many accused Amir of pushing and pulling his opponent.
Now, Khan wants to train better, and who else could it be with than Manny Pacquiao, the current WBO welterweight champion.
Talking about his preparations, Khan said, “I have to win this. I will train hard. This village I’m going to, it’s very isolated, very quiet, few cars. It is at altitude so you do one round in the ring and you feel your chest burning. I’ll do my running
with Manny (Pacquiao) — we’ll be running above the clouds. I’ve done it before and stayed in a five-star hotel. This time I want it basic, hard floors, cold showers. It’s a proper Ninja camp. I’m going to work hard — I want to be in the best condition to get
my belts back. I’m going in there to knock him out and hurt him.”
Talking about his opponent, Khan said that he does not want to hold any grudges against Peterson because grudges can make him commit blunders. He then said that he does not want to go in the ring and go ‘crazy and wild’ but he wants to give Peterson a proper
boxing lesson.
Khan has previously spoken about Peterson’s fighting style and he has criticised it a lot. In his previous interview, Khan said that he knows Peterson will come tougher this time since he (Peterson) knows what he can expect. As for now, both the fighters
are busy with their training. Peterson is as confident about winning the match as Khan. Peterson has already said that he will give his life in the ring to defend his titles, which is something Khan should beware of.
