Amir Khan wants victor’s role in Rocky franchise – Boxing News
Former IBF and WBA light welterweight titlist Amir Khan is keen on getting a role in the Rocky franchise. However, the Briton fighter wants to be the victor in the movie instead of the one being knocked out.
In a recent interview, Khan came up saying, “I couldn't turn that down because I'm a big fan of the 'Rocky' movies, so I'd do that.”
“Yeah, no problem, but I don't want to be the one that's getting knocked out, so I'm going to be the winner first, but after boxing,” Khan added.
While talking to Absolute Radio’s Polly James at BT London Live in Hyde Park, the British-Pakistani fighter came up saying, “I've been asked to do films by Hollywood and a few English directors and also by Bollywood, you know how big Bollywood is. I've not
really looked into it.”
Khan, who was eyeing a rematch against Danny Garcia after losing his WBA title to the American, spoke about his long-term plans.
He added that he always wanted to retire at 28 and so he still has a couple of more years left in the sport. Khan wants to be a family man once he retire and a 'normal' guy, as he puts it.
As of now, Khan is looking forward to revamp his boxing skills, to provide the much needed boost to his boxing career.
The Bolton proud was knocked out in the fourth round by Danny Garcia, an unbeaten American fighter. The fight was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Khan’s WBA light welterweight title, Garcia’s WBC light welterweight title and Ring
Magazine’s vacant title was on the line. It was a title unification bout, another opportunity for Khan to unify titles in his career but he failed to capitalise on it.
Khan was knocked out with a might left hook by Garcia, and twice in the fourth round with similar punches. The fight was stopped, as the referee believed Khan was not in his sense.
As of now, the Brit is perplexed regarding his career. He wants to go ahead and make the most out of it, but his recent losses is shrouded his career with black patches.
